2021年5月21日〜22日、オンラインで開催される、メコン・カルチュラル・ハブ（Mekong Cultural Hub）が主催するシンポジウム”Revealing Contexts: A Meeting Point on Art & Social Action in Asia”に登壇します。東南アジアのアートと社会に関するケーススタディを共有することを目指し、カンボジア、ラオス、ミャンマー、タイ、ベトナムの事例を日本の研究者が調査し、共同でプレゼンテーションを行い、議論するというものです。私はミャンマーの「平和のための詩の朗読祭」（Peace Poetry Recitation Festival）の代表者にメールインタビューを繰り返しました。やりとりの中で考えることも多く、その成果を発表する予定です。登壇に先駆けて、調査のレポートが英語で公開されています。今後このワークショップの内容を踏まえて原稿もブラッシュアップされる予定です。

Peace Poetry Recitation Festival: Peace in Myanmar with Poetry（平和のための詩の朗読祭：詩でミャンマーに平和を）
The Peace Poetry Festival is organised annually by volunteers since 2012; it aims to give a platform for poets to share their work, and to highlight poems on the theme of peace and conflict. Since 2016 the organisers have also introduced a poetry prize. The case study explores how this festival has been led over a long period of time using an informal structure and with commitment from volunteers. It looks at the organic growth of public interest in the festival, and how that links to promotion and marketing. The case study also addresses the current situation in Myanmar, how it is affecting poets and what role poetry can play.
（平和のための詩の朗読祭は、2012年からボランティアによって毎年開催されています。このイベントは、詩人たちが作品を発表する場を提供し、平和と紛争をテーマにした詩にスポットライトを当てることを目的としています。2016年からは詩の賞も設けられています。このケーススタディでは、このフェスティバルがどのようにして非公式な構造とボランティアの献身によって長期間にわたって運営されてきたかを探ります。また、この朗読祭に対する一般の人々の関心が有機的に高まっていること、そしてそれがプロモーションやマーケティングにどのように結びついているかを見ていきます。また、ミャンマーの現状、詩人への影響、そして詩が果たすべき役割についても取り上げています。）
